FFC8 Update 1

Hi Folks!

First, I apologize for the earlier email that was sent out and was blank. There was a glitch in my understanding of how something was supposed to work and hopefully, this email will not be blank!

I'm excited to be provding the first update for the 2010 Canadian Fly Fishing Championships. This update won't provide a whole lot of information but is more of an introduction and to let you know that we are working hard to get information flowing to everyone about the upcoming Fly Fishing Championship.

If you have any questions or announcements that are directly related to the CFFC, please send them to my email address, ian@about-flyfishing.com and I'll endevour to deal with them as quickly as possible.

The Fly Fishing Canada website has been updated with registration forms for this year's event. As before, there is both the team and individual registration as well as a form to offer your services as a volunteer. If you're not participating in this year's event as a competitor, please consider volunteering. Volunteers are a vital part of every competition in ensuring everything runs well.

Please visit the website at http://www.flyfishingcanada.net to register.

Finally, if you haven't yet seen the February/April 2010 issue of "The Canadian Fly Fisher" magazine, you might want to pick a copy up. Todd Oishi has two articles appearing in the issue - one on the competition last year in Fernie, BC and the other on a new venture of FFC - the launch of Canada's first national fly fishing school for kids that was held in conjunction with the 7th annual National Fly Fishing Championships.

Great job, Todd! And great job to all who were involved in helping the kids learn more about fly fishing.

That's it for now - and feel free to email me at the address above. I can't promise you'll get a reply immediately, but I'll do my best.

Warm Regards,

Ian Scott
